I followed the directions for a DIY lightbox, but I really don't like the results. My pictures were still too dark, and I couldn't get the result I wanted. It's probably me, and not the lightbox, but I'm going to blame it on the lightbox. Mine looks like this. But tonight I found this one, and can I just say that it is a brilliant *&^&%^( idea and I'm deeply ashamed I didn't think of it myself.
So, here is the only really acceptable shot from my lightbox. It's still way blown out (too bright white) and I don't like it - it's just too harsh. I'll keep trying though.
You can do cool things with sucky photos using a photo editor. Here's one of my sucky ones, played around with in Picasa.
And here's the first one, played with in Paint.net (oil painting effect).

Well, that's all today. Sorry it's so boring. I'm going to take pictures of my first dog for the pet rescue website tomorrow, so wish me luck!

I read an article recently (I'll have to look thru my recent Clay Times) on how to build a cheapie light box. I did find this link (http://www.claytimes.com/articles_photowork.html) on building a 'soft box'...don't know if it's anything you could use!

well, silly me... it wasn't an article on 'how to' but, where to buy. In case you're interested:
