Today's photos are a lesson in white balance. This morning when I woke up, I had AWESOME bed hair. It was poufy and mussy and sex-ay. So, I thought I would get DH to take a picture. Bad idea lol. He's hopeless with a camera. But, we tried. During the course of this, I changed the white balance on the settings to Tungsten, since we were shooting indoors.
It was a stormy day today, and we took a walk in between storms. I found some Cherokee Rose blooming (Georgia State Flower), and we saw some ladybugs on thistle, and a crawfish in the creek. When we got back to the house, I grabbed my camera and C and I headed out on our bikes to get pictures. I was rushed because there was a storm coming and I'm a big baby when it comes to lightning. Needless to say, I didn't change the white balance back to AUTO or Cloudy (which would have been the most appropriate). As you can see in this picture of the Cherokee Rose, the white balance tends to blue :-( In post-processing (using Picasa) I turned it to B&W, which looks a little better, don't you think?
Like I said, it was a stormy day. Here's another example of white balance gone wrong
(I may have enhanced the blue in post-processing :p but just because I was that annoyed)
And finally, my favorite shot from the day, my clematis that grows by the mailbox that my husband trys to kill every year. I LOVE the big purple flowers that grow on this vine - one of these days (husband be damned) it will cover the mailbox!!!
