Earlier today, I was out back tying our growing wisteria to the fence so it will grow on and along the fence. I kept hearing a rustling noise in the big saw palmetto bunch behind me. Paranoid me initially thought "snake!" but since nothing came out and tried to eat me, I just continued what I was doing. Once I was (safely) back inside the fence, I heard the noise again, and caught a glimpse of green moving through the palmetto. I froze to watch, and a little green lizard - technically a Green or Carolina Anole- crawled out on a leaf and looked at me. Then he started blowing out his dewlap, something I've never seen in person!!! I was torn, afraid if I ran and got my camera he would scatter. About that time B came outside to see what I was doing, and I told him to talk to the lizard while I went and got my camera.
Amazingly, the lizard was still there when I went back out. B said he had been talking to him and that the lizard was listening (see!?!?!). That's when I got these two pictures. I actually took a TON, but these are the best. B said he should be a lizard model. (By the way, you can click on any of the pictures to see them full size - for enhanced viewing experience :p)
Today was also my friend J's son J's 2nd birthday. I went, along with C and B (G had a lacrosse game in SC), and of course my camera. The party was a lot of fun, with a bouncy castle, face painting, a non-scary clown, balloon animals, a magic show, the Hokey Pokey, and birthday cake! I don't think J would mind me sharing this, my favorite picture of the birthday boy! Happy Birthday J!

Awesome pictures! The Clematis is incredible -- and the enhanced blue tree pic looks like it should be a poster.
